“I am not afraid of an army of lions led by a sheep. I am afraid of an army of sheep led by a lion.” – Alexander The Great
Ultimately, your life will mirror your self image and belief. Your consistent thoughts and words have deep meaning – deeper than most understand. More than I understood in the past.
In my twenties, as I become more aware of my current state of success, I began questioning the results I (naively) thought I should’ve been achieving.
“Why aren’t I higher on this freakin ladder of results? I’m talented, smart, and work hard.”
My first ah-ha explosion.
As I continued to dive deeper into how physical success manifested, I quickly realized my inner voice didn’t align with my desired visions.
I found myself regularly and unfairly criticizing myself. The critic inside my mind wouldn’t allow the physical achievements to manifest.
I envisioned detailed success, but I simotaneously squashed that success with negativity from my inner voice. I had a movie reel of pessimism looped in my subconscious, holding my future greatness hostage.
This realization created an explosion of possibilities. My self belief dictated my future. If I changed the script in my mind, I could completely shift the climax of my personal movie.
So, the day I turned 30, this is exactly what I began doing, starting with two simple words ….
Every morning, I began designing my new future by completing the rest of the sentence.
- I am worthy.
- I am confident.
- I am special with God-given, unique gifts.
- I am financially free.
- I am fearless, courageous, and embrace challenges.
The list went on indefinitely.
15 years later, I use I Am as my mediation mantra. The power of two simple words was unimaginable 20 years ago. As I continue to pursue my own personal expectations, I’m also fueled to help young minds make this realization earlier than my example.
That being said, I challenge you to take a listen to your inner loop. What’s it saying? Is that voice holding you back or launching you forward? Do you embrace risk and temporary falls, or are you acting out a script of fear and doubt?
What do you want for yourself, family, business, or sport?
What will you achieve?
Begin changing your subconscious critic today with two simple words.
Repeat after me:
I AM …
